Fund Your Midland Account

How to Fund my IRA at Midland

Once you have opened your Midland IRA account, it is now time to fund it. You can fund your retirement plan by making a personal contribution or IRA to IRA transfer. If eligible, you may contribute by rolling over from a 401(k) or other Qualified Plan.

Funding Via Contribution

If you would like to fund your account via a contribution, you can submit your contribution request online by logging into your Midland 360 portal either on our website or mobile app. You can access the portal in the top right corner of the Midland Trust website.

Once logged in, on the right side of the home page, you will click “Make a Contribution.” You will need to have your bank account information ready to provide, as well as the amount you want to contribute. Please remember that there are different contribution limits depending on your account type and age. You can view the limits on our IRA contribution limits page.

Funding Via Transfer

You can also fund your account by a transfer, which is used to send funds from one IRA to another. The IRA to IRA transfer can be completed in two different ways. Transfer money to your IRA easily through the client portal or by completing the transfer form.

The online option can be completed by logging into the Midland 360 portal and clicking “Transfer Funds” on the right-hand side. You will need to answer a few questions, and our system will automatically generate a prefilled form for you to print or e-sign if your current custodian accepts. You will also need to submit the most recent statement from your current custodian.

The other option to fund your account is to fill out a Midland transfer form. You can find the document by going to the forms section of our website under resources. Once this form is completed, you can upload it using our Secure Document Upload feature on our website. Remember to include your most recent statement when submitting the transfer form.

Funding Via Rollover

Rollovers are another account funding option typically done between different retirement accounts. (i.e., 401(k), 457(b), or 403(b) to IRA). To roll funds over into your retirement account at Midland, you need to contact your current trustee and tell them you want to send your funds to Midland via Rollover.

You will need to provide them with our wiring instructions, which you can obtain by calling our office at (239)-333-1032. Once funds are received, we will need our Rollover Certification form completed.

The Latte Effect

Estimates are that you can save $2,425 a year by skipping the morning Starbucks and by packing your lunch 2 days each week. Over a 20-year career with a modest 5% return, you will have accumulated an additional $84,194. Now that would buy a nice vacation.
